Getting Ready for Fall with Minkology

By Sarah Hurley

Welcome back to the Minkology blog, folks! Can you believe we’ve already made it to September? ‘Tis the season of pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts, not to mention corn mazes, haunted houses, turkey trots, and s’mores around the campfire. If you’ve got kids in the house (or, if like me, you just so happen to be an adult with a healthy sense of whimsy), you’re probably already planning Halloween costumes and stocking up on single-serve candy bars for eager Trick-or-Treaters. Autumn might not officially begin until September 22nd, but if your home is already an explosion of pumpkin pillows, colorful leaf garlands, and turkey paraphernalia, then Minkology is the place for you!

Stop by the shop to browse our full selection of fall goods today!

Minkology is your one-stop shop for all-things autumn this year. You want it? Chances are, we’ve got it! The fan-favorite seasonal Tyler Candle Company fragrances Pumpkin Spice, Mulled Cider, and Homecoming are back in stock, as are Greenwich Bay Trading Company’s soaps and lotions in Harvest Apple, Autumn Garden, and more. Our pumpkin pillows and wooden décor pieces come in a range of shapes, sizes, and styles, and make the perfect addition to any indoor or outdoor living area. For the Spooky Season devotees, our Halloween-themed coffee mugs and tea-towels are always a crowd-pleaser. In our children’s section, we’ve also got a wide range of Halloween and Thanksgiving items, including clothing, Trick-or-Treating bags, novelty lip-glosses, toys, bath bombs, puzzles, and books, among others.

All of our Minkologists have a favorite fall item in the shop. For store owner Wendi, it’s our vintage turkey platters, perfect for plating a Thanksgiving feast. Ginny adores Mudpie’s light-up Ghost Sitters, while Lori favors the fall-themed pillows. Sarah’s favorite items are Sweet Water Décor’s autumn-scented jar candles, especially in the fragrances “Fresh Apple Blossom” and “Hello Fall.” There’s something for every shopper here at Minkology, whether you’re a fan of Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just the entire fall season!

And be sure not to miss Downtown Asheboro’s 50th annual Fall Festival on October 4th and 5th. If you aren’t familiar with this beloved local tradition, Asheboro’s inaugural Fall Festival was held in 1972, included just over 30 vendors, and was located solely on Sunset Avenue in Downtown Asheboro. Over the years, the Randolph Arts Guild, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has continued to expand the Fall Festival to include over 150 vendors and span multiple historical streets in the city. Every year, vendors showcase a wide range of handcrafted goods available for purchase, local food and snack items, and even live demonstrations from local musicians, dancers, crafters, and artists.

Vendors and festivalgoers crowd the historic streets of Downtown Asheboro.

This year, Minkology will be open from 9 AM to 6:00 PM for extended hours on October 4th to accommodate Downtown Asheboro’s Fall Festival traffic. Feel free to stop by and browse with a warm apple cider and sugary funnel cake in hand! To stay up to date with Minkology’s upcoming seasonal sales, events, and other promotions, be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook. We hope to see you soon!
