Oh, Baby: New Products for the Little Ones in Your Life

Welcome back to the Minkology blog, folks. This week, we’re highlighting some of the best new baby products in our store, from L’ovedbaby’s adorable book-themed onesies to Wild Republic’s new Flipkins stuffed animals!

Many customers who wander into our store remark upon our wide selection of items for babies and children. From books and puzzles to burping cloths and stuffed animals, we’re one of Asheboro’s leading suppliers of goods for those with ages ranging in the single digits. You’ve long admired our Compendium books—with titles including Feel It, Finding Muchness, and One More Book Before Bed—and Bella Tunno dishes. Our children’s golf and pickleball sets are fan-favorite Christmas and birthday gifts, and Mary Luck’s Lucky Dog Designs’ baby blankets and burp cloths are perfect for baby showers and families with newborns. One of Minkology’s primary goals over the last two years has been to expand its selection of offerings for babies and children, allowing Asheboro natives to shop locally rather than traveling to bigger cities like Greensboro or Winston-Salem for their gift-giving needs. After carefully considering options online and at wholesale markets to determine which brands would be the best fit for our community, store owners Wendi and Ross Mink decided to add L’ovedbaby apparel and Wild Republic plushies to Minkology’s inventory.

L’ovedbaby, founded by Sharon Oved, is a leading organic baby clothing brand using GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic cotton to craft soft, sustainable pieces for the little ones in your life. Their fabric is safer for the wearer and also reduces the risk of serious illnesses for the cotton farmers who work in close contact with many carcinogenic pesticides still used in conventional cotton farming today. GOTS-certified organic cotton is the highest level of textile certification and is globally recognized for auditing sustainability at every step of production, from farm to mill to finished garment and even packaging. L’ovedbaby’s farmhouse-inspired clothing line initially caught Wendi’s eye, promoting the perfect aesthetic for local families proud of their southern roots. Their lines inspired by Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, as well as the Paddington Bear character and series, also belonged in Minkology’s literacy-focused children’s section.

Wild Republic is another brand that Minkology has recently added to its inventory, offering stuffed animals in a range of styles, sizes, materials, and species: perfect for those living so close to the North Carolina Zoo! Minkology began carrying Wild Republic’s stuffed animals last year but has since expanded its selection to include a wider range of sensory-friendly products, including weighted plushies and plushies with crinkle ears, embossed textures, and other fidget features, as well as a wider range of animal species.
