'Twas the Night Before Christmas... At Minkology!
After Clement-Clarke Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas"
‘Twas the night before Christmas, Minkology style,
With presents wrapped neatly and stacked in a pile.
eNewtons were hung in a joyful display,
The jewelry a glimmering, gold-filled array.
Across from the counter, in towers of three,
Were Diva, High Maintenance, even Fleur de Lis.
Yes, Tyler Candles, with fragrances fair—
Detergents and sachets that sweetened the air.
When Santa arrived with his reindeer and sleigh
Down through the chimney without a delay,
He found vintage ornaments, snowmen, and trees,
Peppermints, toffee—even straws of cheese!
Dasher and Dancer discovered Spongellé
And washed away all of their reindeer-sweat smell.
Prancer and Vixen found kids’ books galore
And thought to themselves, “What a wonderful store!”
Comet and Cupid admired Sweet Wick
While Donner and Blitzen stood guard for St. Nick.
Even young Rudolph, ever so keen,
Delighted in vendors’ wares, crimson and green.
And there in the Workshop, the Old Man himself
Had a sweet surprise waiting, up high on a shelf:
From Homeland Creamery, a three-scoop delight
Of Peppermint ice cream before his next flight.
Leaving no trace but a sprinkling of snow,
Santa Claus readied his reindeer to go.
Though I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
